The famous graffiti-covered Sherman tank on Flamenco Beach — Culebra's most iconic photo op. Left behind when the US Navy ended bombing exercises on the island in 1975 after decades of community protests. The tank sits right on the sand near the west end of the beach, painted over with colorful street art that changes every few years. A powerful reminder of Culebra's resistance and reclamation of their land. Walk past the main beach area toward the rocky west end to find it.
