TODO CULEBRATry the Mofongo with Chicken & Cream Sauce 🌴 A genuinely useful local tip On Culebra, many kitchens slow down early and a lot of places wind down around ~9 p.m. So: eat dinner earlier than you would on the mainland, and if you’re staying at Mamacita's Guest House, try to grab a table at the downstairs restaurant/bar right at opening or before the peak dinner rush—otherwise you may end up waiting or missing out. Mamacita's Guest House is a colorful, laid-back, centrally located stay in Culebra—great if you want to be walking distance to the ferry dock, small shops, and dinner spots rather than isolated at a beach. 🏨 Quick take (what it’s like) ⭐ Rating: 4.1/5 (lots of reviews) ✅ Best for: convenience + “in-town” energy (easy to grab food, catch an early ferry, or hop a shuttle to Flamenco Beach) 🛏️ Rooms: generally simple and spacious with basics like A/C; many rooms have a fridge + microwave (handy for snacks and leftovers) 🍽️ On-site: there’s a restaurant/bar downstairs (often busy—plan ahead) 📍Location & practical details Address: Calle Castelar #64, Culebra Phone: +1 787-742-0090 Front desk hours: typically 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. daily (so plan arrivals accordingly) ✅ Pros / ⚠️ things to know ✅ Super convenient if you’re arriving by ferry or want to be close to everything in town ✅ Good “basecamp” vibe for beach days (stash snacks in your mini-fridge, rinse off, head back out) ⚠️ Like many places on Culebra, it can feel a bit older/“island-rustic,” and some guests mention the property being in phases of upkeep/remodeling—go in with realistic expectations
