Camping at Flamenco Beach, Culebra

How to reserve the public campground, what to bring, and a preview of the glamping concierge — plus how to explore the island car-free.

Flamenco Beach Campground is the only legal place to camp on Culebra — and it sits right behind one of the most famous beaches in the world. It's a government-run public campground (managed by ACDEC): basic, but unbeatable. You wake up steps from turquoise water, with sunrise swims before the day-trippers arrive.

How to Reserve

The campground is run by ACDEC, and reservations go through their office — not an app. Spaces are limited and fill on weekends and holidays, so book ahead:

  • Phone(787) 742-1404 · (787) 742-1400
  • Emailcampingflamenco.acdec@gmail.com
  • Check-inRegister & pay at the entrance office (~7 AM–7 PM); you're assigned a section
ℹ️ Todo Culebra guides you to the campground — we don't operate it. For current rates and reservations, contact ACDEC directly.

What to Bring

It's tent camping on a public beach: bring a tent and stakes, drinking water (potable water tanks are on-site), sun protection, and a way to pack your trash out. There's no electricity, showers are cold, and the sections are lettered (A is nearest the office). No open campfires — BBQ pits only — and no glass bottles anywhere at Flamenco.

Coming Soon: Glamping Concierge

We're launching a glamping concierge for Flamenco: we set up the tent, mattress and gear before you arrive and hand you a tent ticket — all you do is show up. It's not bookable yet; for now, reserve the public campground through ACDEC above. Want first dibs when it opens? Ask Coqui to flag you.

Getting Around Without a Car

Most campers skip the rental car: a fat-tire e-bike ($30 for 6 hours) handles the island's hills and dirt roads and parks free at the beaches, and our 3-hour guided tour ($65/person) makes a great first-day orientation. Both are a flat 12-minute walk from the ferry dock.
